Southwest's offense exploded for 11 hits in a 16-1 victory at Coral Gables Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Eagles (2-2) dominated their district opener, scoring five runs in the top of the first, seven in the third and four in the fourth before the 15-run rule kicked in. Third baseman Priscilla Roche was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Gaby Nuñez had a two-run single in the third and a run-scoring double in the fourth. Yesenia Fonticiella, starting at catcher for the first time, was two-for-two with a walk and scored all three times. Camila Broz was two-for-three with a walk. Yessenia Perez threw a one-hitter while striking out nine. The Lady Cavaliers (1-1) were unable to get a ball out of the infield against her.
