LADY
EAGLES ROUT LAKES, 17-2
Down 2-0 after the top of the first, Southwest roared
back to rout Hialeah Miami Lakes, 17-2, Monday afternoon at Tropical
Park. Jaylin Novoa's RBI double highlighted a two-run first inning
that tied the score. The Lady Eagles (8-10) added eight runs in the
second inning on back-to-back singles by Sherlly Roche and Gaby Nuñez
along with five walks, two hit batsmen, three wild pitches and two
errors. Southwest invoked the 15-run rule with seven more runs in
the bottom of the third. D'Lani Navarro led off with a infield hit
to second base which, when the ball bounced off the second baseman
into right-centerfield, allowed her to circle the bases and score.
Novoa and Shantell Valle both singled in the inning. The Lady Trojans
fell to 3-9. |
