Tied 3-3 in the middle of the fifth inning, host Goleman scored the final four runs to defeat Southwest, 7-3, in the championship game of the District 15-7A tournament. The Lady Gators (12-8) , who dominated the district during the regular season, had to play their best game of the season to overcome a determined Lady Eagles squad. Southwest (8-10) took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when D'Lani Navarro singled and came around to score. Goleman scored a single run in the third and two in the fourth to take a 3-1 lead. The Lady Eagles tied the game in the fifth on singles by Sherlly Roche and Navarro, followed by a Caitlyn Gorelick double. The Lady Gators scored once in the fifth and three more in the sixth to capture the district title. With the new playoff format, the district runner-up no longer automatically advances to the regionals. The champions of districts 13, 14, 15 and 16 will advance along with the next four teams with the highest computer rankings in region 4. Southwest is not expected to advance.
