EAGLES POUND SPARTANS
IN SEASON OPENER, 17-2

Southwest scored five runs in the first inning and six in both the second and third on its way to a 17-2 victory over host Southridge Tuesday afternoon. The season opener was halted after three innings by the 15-run rule. Tatiana Perez held the Spartans to three hits while striking out four. She also starred offensively with two hits, a walk, three RBIs and three runs scored. Others recording two hits for the Eagles were Sannaya Pardey, Shantell Valle and Mia Acosta. Southwest stole 14 bases, led by Acosta's five, and three each by Perez and Ami Casteleiro.
