EAGLES ADVANCE TO CHAMPIONSHIP GAMESouthwest jumped out to a 29-8 first quarter lead and coasted to a 64-23 victory over YPI Athletics Saturday evening in a semifinal game in the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational in Wesley Chapel. YPI, an AAU team from Georgia, is believed to be the first regular season non-high school opponent in Southwest history. All ten players who dressed for the game scored. The Eagles led, 37-10, at the half and 49-21 entering the final period. Southwest (6-5) will play St. Petersburg's Northeast High Monday at 11:20am for the championship of the Cypress Point bracket. YPI falls to 42-130 on the season.
