COUGARS EDGE EAGLES, 47-43

Host Killian took advantage of two long scoring droughts by Southwest in a 47-43 victory Tuesday night. The Eagles (3-14) led 14-7 after one quarter before the Cougars (9-2) held Southwest scoreless for all but the last 8 seconds of the second period to pull within 16-13 at the half. The Eagles could not score for the first 3:37 of the third quarter to fall behind, 26-16. With 44.2 seconds remaining in the game, Ivan Fonseca's sixth 3-pointer of the evening cut Killian's lead to 46-43, but Southwest could not score again. The Cougars were helped by the officials, who called only seven fouls on the green and gold, none in the second half. The Eagles were 2-for-3 from the foul line, while Killian was 9-for-15.

JV BEATS KILLIAN, 53-49

Chris Gonzalo had 15 of his game-high 25 points in the third quarter to lead the junior varsity to a 53-49 win over host Killian. The Baby Eagles are now 6-7.
