EAGLES LOSE VERO OPENER

Southwest struggled with the Ft. Pierce Central Press while falling, 64-42, in the opening round of the Holiday Hoopla tournament at Vero Beach High School. The Cobras led 13-8 after one quarter, 34-18 at the half and 44-32 entering the final period. Central (5-7) also benefitted from an officiating crew that sent the Cobras to the line 27 times to just five free throws for the Eagles (2-9). Southwest will play a loser's bracket game Saturday at 3pm against the loser of the contest between Seminole and Treasure Coast.
