Tony Chickillo was a three-sport athlete, starring as a lineman for the football team, wrestling in the heavyweight class, and throwing the discus and putting the shot for the track squad. He is best known for a football career that saw him earn first team All-County and second team All-State honors as a senior. Rated the sixth best prospect in the state of Florida, Tony went on to star at the University of Miami where he was second-leading tackler as a junior and #3 in tackles as a senior. Selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 5th round of the 1983 NFL draft, he played 3 years in the NFL and four years in the Arena Football League. His high school coach, Paul Skeans, called Tony "as good a high school player as I've seen."
