| EAGLES WIN ON SENIOR DAY, 48-34 Host Southwest broke open a close game in the second quarter and coasted to a 48-34 victory over South Miami Thursday in the regular season finale. Seven first quarter points by Mia Acosta helped the Eagles (3-8) jump out to a 12-10 lead after one quarter. Southwest held the Cobras (3-11) to five second period points to extend their lead to 26-15 at the half. Elisabel DiConzo had 11 of her game-high 19 points in the second half and sank five 3-pointers during the game. The comfortable lead enabled head coach Alex Jurda to give all 11 Eagles playing time. Southwest will begin play Monday at 5pm at Ferguson in the first round of the district tournament. |
