SOUTH DADE STOPS SOUTHWEST, 44-12

South Dade put the game out of reach with a 23-point third quarter on its way to a 43-12 victory over Southwest at Harris Field. The Buccaneers (7-0, 2-0) jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the first quarter and extended it to 20-0 in the second period before quarterback Nicholas Graham hit receiver Ian Valdes with a 27-yard scoring pass with 3:53 left in the half. Southwest went for two points and came up short. South Dade threatened to score on the ensuing possession, but Anthony Marshall intercepted a pass deep in Eagles territory to end the drive, making it 20-6 at halftime.
