| Host Palmetto scored at will Friday night in a 72-0 victory over Southwest at Tropical Park. The Panthers (4-1) ran the opening kickoff back for a touchdown. On their second play from scrimmage, they threw a touchdown pass. The Eagles second punt of the game was returned for a score and it was 21-0 midway through the first quarter. The rest of the first half saw a 92-yard touchdown run, a 60-yard pitch for six, another punt return to the house, a pick-six, a 30-yard TD run and a 1-yard scoring run. With the halftime score, 63-0, running clock kicked in and the final two quarters were shortened to eight minutes each. A third quarter safety and a fourth quarter touchdown rounded out the scoring. Next week Southwest (1-4) faces Columbus, a team that beat Palmetto by 27 points.
