Andre' Daniels took over as head coach of the track and field team at Southwest in 2018. He joined the Eagles staff as assistant head football coach, defensive coordinator and linebackers coach in February of 2017. His first track squad placed 7th overall in the District meet and broke four school records. Daniels' produced the district champion in the 400 meters, runnersup in the 800 meters and triple jump, and a third place finisher in the long jump. Two of his athletes, Frank De La Cruz & Tony Rodriguez, qualified for the Regionals. Under his tutelage, four Eagles signed track scholarships: Sara deMazo, De La Cruz and Rodriguez (all St. Thomas University) and Jonathan Bernard (Webber International University).

A graduate of Southridge High, where he played football and ran track, Daniels attended the University of West Georgia and the College of Redwoods before starting his coaching career at Homestead High in 2013. In his three years with the Bronocs he learned coaching under the tutelage of Larry Coffey Jr. and helped place over 20 student-athletes in college. In 2015, he became Homestead's assistant track coach and strength coach under head coach Israel Alvarez. Daniels dealt mostly with the throwers and ran the weight room program. He had a brief stint as running backs coach at Killian High before coming to Southwest, where he works in the ESE/SPED department. His hometown is Goulds in southwest Miami-Dade county.
