LADY EAGLES DEFEAT LOURDES

D'Lani Navarro had three hits and scored to runs to lead Southwest past Lourdes, 12-8, Thursday in the first game of the Orange Bowl Invitational. The Lady Eagles (5-5) took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Caitlyn Gorelick singled and scored. The Bobcats responded with six runs in the top of the second but Southwest closed to within 6-4 with three runs in the bottom of the second. The big hit was a double by Camila Broz. The Lady Eagles scored seven times in the third to go up, 11-6. Back-to-back doubles by Yesenia Fonticiella and Gaby Nuñez highlighted the big inning. Lourdes (5-4-1) scored two in the fourth and Southwest scored once in the fifth to close out the scoring.
