Rick Landera was named head coach at Southwest in May, 2021. He started coaching in 2003 and comes to the Eagles aftter one year as head coach at neighborhood rival Coral Park. His first head coaching job was at Palmetto where he led the Panthers for four seasons. Landera also served as an assistant coach at Killian (under former Eagle Nick Ronda), Columbus and Florida Christian. In addition to his extensive prep background, he was also head coach at the The Erik Spoelstra Basketball Academy.
