Down 14-2 late in the first quarter, visiting Southwest rallied to defeat Columbus, 58-51. Albert Hernandez, who broke the school single-game scoring record Saturday, sparked the comeback with three 3-pointers in the second quarter. The Eagles (6-2, 3-1) pulled within one point, 19-18, with 3:46 remaining in the second quarter and took the lead for the first time at the 2:25 mark of the third period when Hernandez hit the fifth of his six three-pointers to make it 36-35. The Explorers (2-5, 0-3) trailed 47-39 with 4:50 remaining in the game and cut the lead to four with 1:02 left but the Eagles made nine of ten free throws in the final 1:07 to seal the victory. Chris Murray had 14 points, 9 rebounds and 3 steals. Enmanuel Carbonell had 3 assists. Southwest has beaten Columbus four of the last five times the rivals have played. The scoring:
