EAGLES KEEP CORAL PARK WINLESS

Visiting Southwest won its third consecutive game, 54-46, at Coral Park. The Eagles (3-2, 1-1) looked like they were going to blow the Rams out after jumping out to a 21-9 first quarter lead. An even second quarter left Southwest up, 32-20, at the half. Eight three-pointers, four by Albert Hernandez, were the difference in the opening half. Coral Park (0-5, 0-3) narrowed the deficit to 45-42 with 3:49 left when a five-point play ended the Rams run. Chris Murray was fouled by Coral Park's Romero Perkins as he scored underneath. Romero protested the call, which resulted in him fouling out, and was quickly hit with a technical foul. Murray hit his foul shot and Hernandez hit both free throws from the tech to widen the margin to 50-42 and end the Rams threat. Murray led the rebounding with four, Justin Pratt had 4 assists and Orlando Fletcher stole the ball three times. The scoring:
Albert Hernandez 20
Chris Murray 12
Orlando Fletcher 6
Justin Pratt 5
Jean Grullon 5
Andre Abreu 3
