EAGLES KEEP CORAL PARK WINLESS
Visiting Southwest won its third consecutive game,
54-46, at Coral Park. The Eagles (3-2, 1-1) looked like they were
going to blow the Rams out after jumping out to a 21-9 first quarter
lead. An even second quarter left Southwest up, 32-20, at the half.
Eight three-pointers, four by Albert Hernandez, were the difference
in the opening half. Coral Park (0-5, 0-3) narrowed the deficit to
45-42 with 3:49 left when a five-point play ended the Rams run. Chris
Murray was fouled by Coral Park's Romero Perkins as he scored underneath.
Romero protested the call, which resulted in him fouling out, and
was quickly hit with a technical foul. Murray hit his foul shot and
Hernandez hit both free throws from the tech to widen the margin to
50-42 and end the Rams threat. Murray led the rebounding with four,
Justin Pratt had 4 assists and Orlando Fletcher stole the ball three
