EAGLES WIN FIRST, 52-49

Visiting Southwest was 5-for-5 from the line in the fourth quarter and held on to defeat Archbishop Carroll, 52-49, Thursday night. The Eagles (1-2) broke open a close game, taking an 11-point lead with 45 seconds remaining in the third quarter. But the Bulldogs (0-4) closed the gap to two points with five minutes left in the game. Dylan Jaxon hit a three-pointer a minute later to extend the lead to five and Josue De-La-Torre followed with a trey of his own to make it 45-37 with 2:32 on the clock. Fifteen second later, Jaxon hit a two, was fouled, and made the free throw to get the lead back up to 11. Archbishop Carroll scored seven unanswered points in the next 52 seconds to get back in the game, but Alejandro Diaz and Thiago Bourroul each hit a pair of three throws in the final 52 seconds to close out the win.
