EAGLES SWEEP SEASON SERIES FROM VARELA, 56-49

Visiting Southwest led from start to finish Tuesday night, sweeping the season series over Varela, 56-49. The Eagles (7-13) jumped out to a quick 17-7 lead over the Vipers (5-14). Southwest's biggest lead was 33-20 early in the third quarter. The closest Varela got was three points down with 7:30 left in the game but the Eagles responded with 6-0 run to create some space.
