CORAL PARK WINS SQUEAKER

Before a standing room only crowd at the Southwest gym, Coral Park held on for a 38-35 victory Thursday night. The game was tight throughout with Southwest leading 10-6 after one quarter, 20-19 at the half and the teams tied 26-26 entering the final period. Dylan Jaxon, who scored a game-high 19 points, scored the next four points to give the Eagles (5-11) the lead, but the Rams (7-7) went on a 12-2 run to take a six-point lead with 1:59 left. With six seconds left, an Emmanuel Cedeno three-pointer cut the lead to three and when Coral Park missed two free throws a second later, Southwest had a final chance. Unfortunately, a three-point attempt at the buzzer missed the mark. The Eagles lost the game on the free throw line, making only 9 of 21 foul shots.
