EAGLES SWEEP RIVAL CORAL PARK, 50-39

Southwest led from start to finish in a 50-39 district victory over visiting Coral Park. The game was not as close as the score indicates as the Eagles (7-8, 3-5) extended a 26-15 halftime lead to a 36-17 margin midway through the third quarter. The closest the Rams (1-14, 0-9) got was 9 points down with 1:10 left in the game. Chris Murray had 10 points and led the Eagles in rebounds, blocks and assists with 8, 4 and 3, respectively. Southwest again sweeps the season series from neighborhood rival Coral Park. The scoring:

JV STEALS ONE FROM CORAL PARK, 41-35

The Southwest junior varsity had its defensive shoes on, recording an astounding 23 steals in a 41-35 triumph over visiting Coral Park. Kevin Rodriguez and Darian Garcia each had 9 points for the Baby Eagles (6-9) and Garcia helped clinch the win by making all four of his free throws in the final period.

 


Chris Murray was 2 rebounds shy of a double-double
