EAGLES FALL TO VARELA ON SENIOR NIGHT

Visiting Varela took its first lead with 3:41 left in the game and held on for a 42-38 victory, ruining Senior Night for Southwest. The Vipers (14-6) didn't score a point for the first 5:51 of the game, but the Eagles (5-17) struggled offensive also and only 8-4 after the first quarter. The teams tied 13-13 in the second period and 10-10 in the third, so Southwest clung to a 4-point lead entering the final 8 minutes. The Eagles made 3 baskets to Varela's 2 in the fourth quarter, but the Vipers went to the line 19 times in the final period to zero for Southwest. The Eagles begin play in the district tournament Tuesday at 7:30pm at South Dade.

JV RECORDS WINNING SEASON!

Jace Castillo scored 12 points to lead the junior varsity to a 54-40 victory over visiting Varela. The win ended the Baby Eagles season with a record of 10-9. Congratulations to head coach Gino Macias, his entire staff and all the players on their season.
