EAGLES SWEEP SEASON SERIES FROM COBRAS

Ivan Fonseca scored 22 points and Thiago Bourroul added 21 to lead host Southwest over South Miami, 68-46, Thursday night. Down 13-12 after one quarter the Eagles (5-15) held the Cobras (2-16) scoreless for the first five minutes of the second quarter to take a 34-23 halftime lead. Southwest again shutout South Miami for four minutes of the third period to stretch its lead to 51-30 entering the final quarter.

Down 15 points in the first half, the junior varsity rallied for a 68-48 victory over visiting South Miami. Chris Gonzalo had 21 points and Giancarlos Perez had 17 for the Baby Eagles (8-8).
