EAGLES END 6-GAME LOSING STREAK

Ivan Fonseca scorched visiting Mater Brickell for 28 points to lead Southwest to a 50-36 victory Tuesday night. Fonseca made eight 3-pointers with four in each half. The Eagles (4-15), who broke a six-game losing streak, led 16-12 after one quarter, 26-22 at the half and 38-34 entering the final period. The Bulls (12-10) managed only two points in the fourth quarter.

Austin Castañeda had 13 points and Chris Gonzalo added 10 to lead the junior varsity to a 56-42 win over Mater Brickell. The Baby Eagles are now 7-8.
