LELY EDGES SOUTHWEST BY 4

Host Naples Lely survived a fourth quarter rally by Southwest to defeat the Eagles, 53-49, Saturday evening. The Eagles (3-13) jumped out to an 8-2 lead before the Trojans (13-2) went on a 12-0 run. By halftime, the Eagles regained the lead, 22-20, but Lely outscored Southwest 26-11 in the third quarter. A three-point goal by Thiago Bourroul cut the deficit to 50-48 with 48 seconds remaining, but the Eagles could pull no closer. Southwest was hurt by going 2-for-8 from the free throw line in the final period. Bourroul had his third game of the season with 29 or more points.
