EAGLES DOWN NOLES, 60-48

Southwest jumped out to a 19-point halftime lead and held on for a 60-48 victory over Sanford Seminole Saturday afternoon in the Holiday Hoopla tournament at Vero Beach High School. The Eagles (3-9) made seven 3-pointers in the first half, four of them by Thiago Bourroul. The Seminoles (3-9) cut the deficit to 49-42 with 3:24 remaining, but could get no closer. Southwest was 10-for-10 from the free throw line before missing two shots in the closing seconds of the game. The Eagles play in the tournament's fifth place game Monday at 4:30pm.
