2020-21 SEASON IN REVIEW

While the season ended earlier than anyone had hoped, the 2020-21 season was certainly one of the greatest in school history. Southwest began with a 9-game winning streak, the longest in 64 years of Eagles basketball. The season ended with a record of 16-3, setting a school mark for highest winning percentage at .842. The '20-'21 Eagles were the first team in school history to score 100 points and they did it twice! Among the teams Southwest beat were Palmetto (regular season champions of district 16-7A), Coral Gables (district 15-7A tournament champions) and North Miami (champions of district 15-6A).

While our six seniors will be missed, the future is bright. Two starters, Adrian Cruz and Carlos Taveras, return along with seven other players with varsity experience. The junior varsity had another great year, starting 11-0 before suffering two losses in the Junior Orange Bowl tournament, and will provide several future varsity stars. SWEaglesSports.com has junior varsity records going back to the 1995-96 season and no JV team over that period had a better record.

Congratulations to all the players and coaches for making Eagles Nation proud!
