Alex Jurda was named the Eagles girls basketball coach prior to the 2025-26 season. He is a former Southwest basketball player, graduating in 1991. Jurda returns home from Pinecrest Glades Academy, where he was head coach of the girls varsity, girls middle school and boys junior varsity teams. Prior to that, he was an assistant boys coach at Northwest Christian, Champagnat and La Progresiva.
