Tim Neal took over as head coach of Southwest before the 2009 season. He led the Eagles to back-to-back district championships in 2012 and 2013 and four consecutive state playoff appearances, a streak that is still alive. The nine wins by his 2013 squad were the most in school history. In 2011, he became only the second Southwest coach to defeat Coral Gables, a feat his team repeated in 2012. Coach Neal's regular season record entering the 2016 season is 43-27.
